Stunning day out - highly recommended for a first ultra.

Parked at the base of McPhails Trail and ran a counter-clockwise loop. I purified some water from Yarrunga Creek, though I've no idea if the water is considered safe. I haven't died yet.

I added an extra out-and-back up Wombat Hill Lookout track to make it up to 50km, and because the recent bushfires burned out the undergrowth along the West side of the ridge, offering unobscured views across the valley. Anyone going for the FKT can skip the out-and-back.
