FKT: Jonathan Gowen - Sugarloaf Northern Peaks + Summit Loop - 2023-04-14

I had never run in this area before so this entire route was new to me. Started at east view parking area and headed straight up the steep climb to Sugarloaf summit. There is a lot of trail braiding in certain areas of this route, especially near any overlook or summit. Made quite a few navigational errors near the beginning which resulted in a bit of extra running and trail finding. Once on the blue trail its much easier to follow. Trails were much more technical in some areas than I anticipated which made for some very fun running. Lots and lots of hikers staring at their shoes- I'd recommend anyone attempting this do so early in the morning on a weekday. There are no big climbs, but overall this route felt pretty hard. Had dead legs today and I am sure there is much more time to be had. Looking forward to seeing this time go down!
