We started at the SARA building to the South, but if and when I do it again I will use the other SARA building to the North, to avoid crossing the canal. We finished at the Llanthony Lift Bridge, which felt like the entrance to the Gloucester Docks area.
It was pretty muddy, as it has been raining for weeks, and I had road shoes, so I had to watch my feet and I was slipping all over the place. I thought it would be gravel, but it was mostly a grassy verge with a narrow wet path, and some tarmac paths mainly near Gloucester. If it's wet and you want to run fast you need trail shoes!
We didn't stop, except when I fell over in the mud, and just two or three gates. A good run, despite the weather. It's great to find a flat route with few people and no cars, very good for marathon training.
