I dropped my bike off at Woodchuck Hollow Rd and drove back to Biscuit brook parking area. I started on the Trailhead at 5:37am.
The climb up to Fir wasn’t as bad as I expected. The herd path was less of a bushwhack and more of an unmarked trail. From Fir to Indian Head is where I lost the most time. I kept losing the herd path. I was bushwhacking more than I was on the trail.
As soon as I summited Indian Head, the trail was clearly marked and runnable all the way to the end. I carried 2 liters of water mixed with skratch high carb, and about 1000mg of electrolytes. Although there was no water from start to finish, I never needed more than what I had.
All in all, this is an extremely fun route. I’m not as fast as I used to be on descents because of my knee, but this route can definitely be lowered into the low two hour range.
