I raced at Reto Vulcano yesterday with some fellow/stellar USA Sky team members in cold/wet/wild conditions.
This morning I woke up to clear skies and decided to go back up to Orizaba. During the race we went up to the Albergue at 15,400’ which is along this FKT route. Was really happy to have a weather window this morning in order to attempt getting to the summit.
With racing yesterday (40km and 8,000’) I knew my legs weren’t going to be 100 but that didn’t really matter. Was just fun to be out on Orizaba in the sunshine and steep snow.
This is an incredible part of Mexico, grateful to everyone I’ve met and the adventures had.
