FKT: Joseph Lutes - Indiana Dunes High Traverse (IN) - 2026-04-03

I came across this route and saw there was no marked completion so I figured I'd lace up and go for it. On the power of a cup of coffee and a moonpie I drove out from Fort Wayne on a whim and went for it. First time visiting the Dunes. I found it much easier to just follow the gps track on caltopo because the written description was confusing since there were so many more offshoots from the main trail. This time can easily be beat. I did each way in about 1:50 with no jogging or training or hydration or food in my belly. I think a better and more fun variation would be some sort of a loop rather then an out and back.
