I set out June 25, 2024 at 7:01AM to run the AMC 3 Huts Loop and lined up some ideal conditions up in the White Mountain National Forest. Mostly cool temperatures high 70s throughout the day with a breeze and dry footing along the Presidential Range connecting Lake of the Clouds Hut and Madison Spring Hut. It was my first go down the Osgood Trail which has spectacular views and slightly brutal rock hopping after a morning of climbing. I refilled water at each of the 3 huts and carried all my sour patch kids and bottle of coke I scarfed down. After tagging the Carter Notch Hut and traversing the Wildcat Range, I finished the day down the super steep boulders of the Wildcat Ridge Trail to Route 16. Had to hop the barrier and cross the road due to the tunnel closure. Finished up the 3 Hut Loop after 8 hours 23 minutes 27 seconds. Such an awesome route and psyched on the day. The White Mountains always leave you with a special kind of worn out.
Note* Glen Ellis Trailhead Parking is under construction. I bushwhacked around restricted area as to not cause issue with WMNF and work crew.
