I left the morning of June 27, 2020 at 6:46am and finished July 9 at 5:16pm in a time of 12 days 10 hrs and 29 minutes. I tried to stick as closely to the maps found at oregon.gov, but also used the supported FKT gpx file as a guide. I was unable to download the self supported FKT holder's gpx track to follow. I completed this hike during the covid-19 pandemic, so there were complications that arose due to the coronavirus. When I started this hike, Oregon was mostly open and I followed all state and local guidelines surrounding covid-19. As the trip went on, regulations became more strict and many state parks were closed along the way. In certain locations I road walked around state parks that were closed to respect state and local authorities. I did this hike NOBO which also had its challenges. I took a long road walk through Tillamook because I would have been unable to get a ferry across at Barview. I took a ferry across the bay just south of Reedsport and a ferry across Nehalem Bay. My inreach was set to track every 20 minutes in order to save battery as much as possible, so I do not know know exactly how many miles I covered in total.
