This is a fun little out and back. From the previous attempt reports navigation is an issue and I agree that it would be impossible to stay on trail without a GPX file. I used the "hiking project" app and it worked like a charm. There are some markings and signs that are a helpful but a few times the correct trail isn't the prominent trail and there are no markings. That app works without cell service although there is service the entire way (at least with my ATT). The trail is listed on the app and was easy to follow to stay on course. So if you don't have a watch that can load a GPX file, just run with your phone and that app ;-) Note: The campground is currently closed and the road is gated off... so you will need to park at the gate and walk 1/3 a mile to the trailhead. I ran this trail less than hour after that Hargus Lake FKT and I'm attempting the Logan Trail at dawn, so while the time is more competitive now, this is most definitely beatable. It's a fun trail so come and lower the time!
