I started at sunrise on a beautiful fall morning. Beginning at the Dragon's Tooth trailhead I went counterclockwise, running through a strong breeze that kept me comfortable all day.
Started well and was feeling good through Tinker Cliffs, then began to have GI issues where I couldn't keep any solids down and my legs were shot after the (slow) climb up North Mountain. It was hard to take advantage of runnable terrain since I could barely pick my feet up. The stream where I refilled my bottles was just a trickle and cost me some time, but the forced break probably helped. It felt really great to stumble back into the parking lot at Dragon's Tooth and stop the clock with a few minutes to spare.
As hard as that was, it puts in perspective how amazing the supported FKT is on this route.
