Mike Wardian set a beatable baseline on this in a snow storm in January. Fun adventure out there. Ran well through the first half. Took the foot off some in the second half and spent time filtering water.
Lots of hikers and a few other runners out today. It was particularly crowded near 50, 7 and where there is a road crossing and trailhead in the middle.
I was lucky with cooler weather than normal for July. It started in the low 60s and was probably mid 70s by the time that I finished.
I ran this route truly on the AT from Route 50 to Route 7. The main parking areas on both sides (Ashby and Snicker's) are not right where the AT hits the highways and so it requires a little extra jaunt to get to the "start", whichever highway (50 or 7) that you are starting from.
