Report

We climbed up from a parking slot in Oderbrueck for ~8km to reach our starting point, which is the summit of Brocken Mountain (1142 meters), the highest peak of the Harz National Park. There was dense fog when we started the run but thunderstorm and rain were gone. We were running the "Brocken-Challenge" route REVERSE which meant ~80km running over broad forest and farm roads, hiking and cross-country ski trails down to a gate which marks the finish in front of Hainholzhof in Göttingen/Kehr. Re-supplied on liquids shortly after the village of Barbis, asking a local to use his tab water.
