Very runnable route through South Jersey Pine Barrens. I was able to complete this route unsupported with a Salomon ADV 12L pack and a Katadyn BeFree 1.0L bottle, that I used to refill my water supply twice through this route. I carried all of my food/hydration powders with me. There are water sources on both the Batona and Mullica River trails, but you must filter the water. Very quiet and peaceful trails that take you from the Northern Terminus (Ong's hat) of the Batona to the Atsion Lake terminus of the Mullica River trail. Trails are very well blazed and easy to follow. Overall, this is a very fun route that takes you past some really pretty lakes/ponds, scrub pine, a fire tower, a memorial to a fallen Mexican pilot; a pretty varied landscape for South Jersey Pine Barrens. I felt safe completing it as a solo runner and while I completed this on a Friday and saw a few other fellow runners and hikers, there were hours and miles that I didn't see other hikers/runners, so it has the potential to be a very quiet and peaceful route.
