FKT: Julia Martin - LHHT gate to eight to gate - 2023-04-02

I selected this route as my first FKT attempt as there was no female recorded time and I had never visited Ohiopyle. I stopped a few times, including a few minutes to filter water near the end. The trail was beautiful but rugged and unforgiving. The mileage and vert listed here are a little short. There was lots of water on the trail, especially near the beginning. I rolled my ankle once early on but it didn't set me back. This is a very popular section of trail for locals; I encountered lots of day hikers and backpackers. I completed the ceremonial loop around marker 8 before beginning my return journey. Tip: when you're done, visit Falls City Pub across the street from the trailhead.
