I completed this FKT and the other route up and down Black Bear Mountain this morning as part of 46Climbs, a fundraiser for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention to raise funds and awareness for mental health. I opted to do this route second and gave myself about a 20-minute break in between each one.

Since I had gone down the blue trail faster than I went up it for the first FKT, I decided to go up the yellow trail and down the blue trail, opposite of what I had originally planned. I think it was a good call, as the yellow trail had a lot of roots, and I don't think I would have been much faster (if at all) running down the yellow trail instead of up it.

The beginning was very runnable, even more so than the blue trail. Once I got to the trail junction to turn and climb up towards the summit, I switched to hiking. I lost the trail momentarily a few times towards the top and stopped to enjoy the views, so I probably could have gone faster. However, I am proud with my downhill speed, particularly towards the end, and even reached my goal of sub-60 minutes!
