i wanted to do a longer run but didn't have time for an overnight, so this looked promising. the surface is paved and relatively flat so you can run pretty much the whole time if you want. there are a few road crossings, nothing too terrible. the northern 20 miles or so has some nice views, lakes and bridges, etc. there's also a bit more opportunity to filter water there. the rest of the trail is a bit more urban and lots of time is spent near highways. good idea to bring a pair of noise canceling headphones there - i had mine in most of the time!
ran unsupported with 2L of tailwind to start. that was nice (less baggage to carry) but also necessitated more water stops than normal. it was hard to find efficient water stops on the southern end, most of what i ended up getting was rivers a bit off trail (requiring a careful scramble down off the trail) and the water quality was not so great. lost quite a bit of time filling up and then walking afterwards while mixing tailwind, moving bottles around, etc.
