Been running here for years now but this was maybe the 2nd or 3rd time that I've honestly tried to break the overall time on this route.
I made the decision to try and go for it on the descent after my first warm up loop. This route has a brutal section about halfway up the climb. It's over 40% at some points and was extremely overgrown this day. Something I was looking for. It helps to simulate the "Ultra Loop" section of my upcoming Spartan Race in Killington Vermont this September.
Just edged it out by 4 seconds on the strava segment! Very close, my watch time clocked it slightly under 27 minutes, like 26:47 I think but Strava clocked it at 27 minutes clean. I thought I was much further ahead at the bottom but it took some time to find the end point. Hopefully someone comes out soon to lower it under 27 minutes.
