After a very good season of running I finally found time to try to beat my PB on this spectacular route. In 2017 I did the second best time of 10h15min, which was 41min slower than the current record of 9h34min. Then in 2018 Nikolay Nikolaev did a great run during the traditional StaRa 100x24 event with a record breaking time of 9h09min.
I was very excited to try this route unsupported, using only water sources next to the huts on the way. My backpack was slightly heavier than I wanted it to be, but that's the discomfort of an unsupported attempt.
The weather was great, actually quite warm for this time of the year. I felt very strong in the last 16km after crossing the Beklemeto pass and was able to beat the previous FKT with 14 minutes.
