I probably should have run this route years back, as it starts in my home town, before injury and encroaching old age snuck up on me. Better late than never, though. With no female time logged, I figured I might as well set a low bar for people to better.
The route is well marked in parts and distinctly less so in others; I’d definitely recommend having the route uploaded onto a phone/watch. Fallen trees near Barham made one section an obstacle course, while the two golf clubs have route signage that deviates from the official OS route. No doubt I irritated a few golfers by sticking to the official route.
There aren’t any public taps on the route (or at least none that I know of). A lot of the route is in the open, so if you do it on a toasty day like me, make sure you carry sufficient fluids. If you want to log a self-supported time, there are pubs and convenience stores in both Elham and Lyminge.
