We chose a sunny autumnal day for the Itchen Way, North-to-South. The Northern parts of the route were lovely, rural and scenic. The sections through Southampton and into Sholing, not so inspiring and a bit tedious (maybe to do with tired legs at that stage)! We had some fun sploshing through some flooded sections, with the worst parts between Shawford and Brambridge near Winchester.
As we chose a weekday to run, we benefitted from a less crowded route, although it did still seem busy going through Winchester City.
We ran as a pair, carrying everything we needed, but didn't have any other supporters, apart from a much appreciated lift home from Sholing.
