I hiked here many years ago as a kid but had never run it, and primarily wanted to go out to catch some fall colors on a beautiful day - I was not disappointed, truly a beautiful run. I did this solo at a pretty chill “leaf peeping” pace, so I fully expect and encourage someone else to try and crush this time (especially on a day with fewer groups of hikers and less temptation to slow down to take photos photos every mile). I saw lots of other hikers as expected (although most of the trails are wide enough to pass so no issues there), but no other runners out there. I ran this unsupported, brought my pack with 2 20-oz flasks (1 water, 1 Liquid IV) and a couple gels, which initially felt like overpacking for 8 miles, but I was glad I did given the length of time it took. I would definitely come back here again, hopefully to do some loops to help train for some spring running objectives.
