I found this route while taking an extended vacation in Chamonix. My dad paced me as we started early from the train station in great cool and clear weather. This was my second time doing this route on the trip and I like that it isn't that long of a round trip but still challenging. We didn't see anyone else on the way up and had a nice rest at the top for about 30 minutes watching the sun come up and enjoying the peace before any crowds arrived. Our route end up being a little longer than others because there was construction going on at the platform and the trail at the end of the route taking you to the platform was closed off so we had to go on the slightly longer loop at the end to still get to the top and finish at the Mer De Glace sign. It was great to establish a solid women's time for this FKT while on my vacation in Chamonix. I am ready to go back next summer and take some time off of this route!
