This submission is part of the Atlantic States Seaboard Tour where I attempted an FKT route in each state, on back-to-back days. There are 14 contiguous states that follow the Atlantic Coast Shoreline: Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, and Florida.
A full trip report will be posted on natureorbust.com within one week.
On 9/23/23 I arrived at the Everglades National Park after driving 17 hours from NJ. I arrived during the “wet season” and while it didn’t rain on the date of this route, the temperatures averaged in the mid 90s with a Tmax of 97-degree Fahrenheit. I started at 12:37pm under the blazing sun. Half of the path was underwater, and the other half had water slightly overflowing.
