I ran the loop as described, with one difference: I did not take the Sentier des Roches. It is a possible variation, but it is closed every winter and is best avoided after rain, when the rocky sections get slippery. On a morning like this I stayed on the regular trails instead. Everything else is the same: start and finish at the Col de la Schlucht, the Hohneck summit, the Frankenthal, and the return via the Col du Falimont and the Trois Fours. Distance and elevation match the posted route (10.5 km, about 500 to 570 m of gain).
I ran without food, water or anything. It was a cool tour with great views of the Hautes-Vosges and the Frankenthal. After the run you can get food and drinks right at the Col de la Schlucht.
