As part of a longer project linking the public accessible 14ers of the lower 48, I arrived at Cotonwood lakes after the Colorado 14ers and riding my bike to California.
From sunrise at Cottonwood Lakes I was joined by Matt Zupan (unsupported Norman’s FKT holder and first person to complete the route) til Langley, Nick Danielsson til Whitney and Rod Farvard til Russel. After Forester pass I took a 1h nap in the ground. At the feet of Split Mountain I met with Olivia Amber - fresh off her own recent Norman’s FKT - and climbed Split in snowfall and strong wind. After that I met with Matt Cornell and we did Middle Palisade and the Palisade traverse. West side was dry but the east side of the mountain was covered with ice and snow, making progression slower. where they climbed together.
The time for that section was 56h11'04''. Then I took my bike to Bishop to sleep a bit and continued to White Mountain.
