Kip reported an earlier FKT, but had problems with his GPS watch, so the verification material was poor. So, he went back and repeated it, finishing in almost exactly the same time. He again had problems with his watch, but also took time-stamped photos at the beginning, in the middle, and at the end, which confirm his time.
"I fell descending a hill again about 8.5km in and lost that first segment of the run (I also narrowly avoided needing stitches). I was able to get my watch started immediately after and caught the rest of the run in ~1h segments in case I had further problems. My watch continues to work for the most part but has evidently lost its impact resistance which should maybe serve as a bigger incentive to stay on my feet in the future.
I also took photos at the start/end of the run and at two easily identifiable mid-loop locations which you should be able to cross reference with the GPS tracks if you care to do so.
By the time stamps on the photos, i came up with 3:19:29 which closely matches my phone timer (3:19:46, I started the timer before the first pic and ended it after the last one). After my quick start was interrupted by my second fall on this trail in two attempts, I decided that pushing the downhills for the sake of a substantially faster time than last time wasn't worth the risk of a more serious injury."
