Started just before 6am to try and beat the heat and carried 3L of water, which was almost not enough with temperatures already around 95° by the finish. Definitely not a route I’d want to attempt in the middle of summer. The exposed ridge line miles were super fun, but being alone in such an isolated area kept the effort controlled and steady. I took about 35 minutes total in breaks between stopping along the way, spending some time at the summit, and pausing to watch some bighorn sheep. Definitely still some time left out there. Such a challenging and rewarding day in the mountains.
