I started at 7am at Station Eisden, where the route officially starts. Dawn just started, it became from dawn to dusk, finished at 17h43. I took a camelbak of 4kg weight incl 2.5L water. I stopped twice to buy coke and water, at 42km at a snackbar and at 70km in a bar. The route is very beautiful and varied, extra nice with the autumn leaves. I just had some issues at the beginning, the gpx went at least 5 times different than the signs of the NP Hoge Kempen route. A few times I noticed too late and had to go back. Also my waterhose was folded, so I had to stop and route it again. In the beginning I suffered from slippery mud, I was on Vaporflies, after 5km I fell full on my backside in the mud! Not strange, it had been raining for a whole week, I was lucky with a dry day and nice running temperature ~12C. There was quite some water and mud, sometimes difficult to see under the leaves on the floor. But hey, it's a trailrun!
