Regretted my late and leisurely noon start, because it was HOT, even at 10k at the TH. Did the same as other FKT holders and took the Old Army Pass route both out and back. I know Old Pass is more direct, but New Pass might be more runnable to get to the summit quicker despite being longer, not sure. Old Army Pass is in not great shape since it's not maintained, but it was pretty short and uneventful. However that sand slog from the top of the pass to the summit is really something and now that I've been up there, I will definitely micro-navigate the last mile differently if I ever try again.

Used the Sullivan's mixed gender time as something to aim for since no women have submitted a time. I feel like I did pretty well on the way up, but the late afternoon sun really got me on the way down at lower elevation and I had slow down quite a bit to not puke from the heat. I know I can do this a little faster earlier in the day, but I'm happy with my time given this was my first time stepping foot on the route. Like others, I submitted my overall time and not the segment time because the round trip segment starts and ends not quite at the true TH.

Brought poles, but didn't use them. Got down 90g carb an hour of drink mix and gummy bears. Refilled my flasks in creeks and lakes as needed. Accepted no support from day hikers other than a few fist bumps and compliments that I looked strong as I ran passed people.
