I didn't originally plan to run this as an FKT but realized that there was not a female time for out and back on the Arkaquah Trail. It was a beautiful day with perfect weather. The first mile or so was extremely steep and mostly hiking but I was able to piece together some running sections after that initial climb. Footing was difficult and kept me from running at a very fast pace but I had some great views along the ridges. Once I reached the paved trail to the top, it was wall to wall people (heavily visited over the holidays) but it was amazing at the top even after navigating through all the people- my first time on the top of Brasstown Bald. I also couldn't find a female time for the ascent so I will post my time for that as well (1:26.59). I didn't push the pace much on the way down and stopped several times to take pictures. Overall, a great day on a great trail.
