Report

Started from Sota Sæter Monday morning 10th of July 2023 without any plan of doing an FKT. Weather report was pretty bad for the coming days and we just wanted to see how far we could go. Curious to experience new mountain areas and terrain, and also curious on response from body and mind. Weather turned out better than expected, and body and mind responded pretty good for both of us. Aches and pains came and went and mood was gold.

Day 1: Sota Sæter-Sognefjellshytta. Waffle at Nørdstedalseter. Reached Sognefjellshytta just in time for last call for dinner.

Day 2: Sognefjellshytta-Fannaråken-Skogadalsbøen. Late start because of glacier crossing with guide at 12.30. Perfect because we needed some rest and a good night sleep after a pretty rough first day on the trail yesterday.

Day 3: Skogadalsbøen-Fondsbu-Sletningsbu. Original plan was to sleep at Fondsbu. Despite heavy rain and very tasty cinnamon buns at Fondsbu we decided to continue to Sletningsbu. Mushy and very wet along Tyin. Heavy legs up to Sletningsbu.

Day 4: Sletningsbu-Sulebu-Skarvheimen. Legs a bit heavy, second half felt tough. Erikas partner Tyler and their dog Timber met us a few kms from Skarvheimen with rosinbolle, and cooked for us. Had some time to read about the rules for FKTs and discovered that there was no female-FKT for the massiv-rute.

Day 5: Skarvheim-Bjordalsbu-Iungdalshytta-Kongshelleren. Felt very good after some gourmet food cooked by Tyler. First day of sun and legs felt good, finally some runable terrain. Original plan was to sleep at Iungdadalshytta but because the weather forecast for the next day was pretty bad we decided to contiune to Kongshelleren in the sun after som rømmegrøt.

Day 6: Kongshelleren-Geitryggshytta-Finse. Foggy, rainy, cold, windy. Nice trails.

Day 7: Finse-Krækkja-Stigstuv. Very nice morning, very slow afternoon. Wet and windy.

Day 8: Stigstuv-Sandhaug-Litlos. Same as yesterday afternoon.

Day 9: Litlos-Hellevassbu-Haukeliseter. Still cold, but weather was a lot better and so was the trails. Perfect last day. Beers, dinner, sauna and more bolle.
