*hit the icicle ridge trailhead at 3:22:23, ran another minute or so to hit the road
I've done the enchantments almost every summer, but hitting the other side of the road has been on my to-do for a while and I finally got it done. Somehow felt great climbing up to the fourth of july lookout (almost 5000ft in just over 5 miles oof), then the ridge feels buttery smooth after that. Dropping down to icicle is a steep descent!
Plenty of time to be chopped off still! I put in decent effort on the climb, but just cruised the ridge and the descent. Lots can be made up if you push these sections.
I started before 8am and I think that was a great call. Finished a little after 11am and it had already hit 90 degrees. Essentially no water along any of this so watch out for high temps! The understory really traps heat in this area so it feels extra hot on the trail.
