This is a pretty good mixed terrain loop with easy parking right by the canal if you wish to start there. If you want to finish with a few miles on the canal then go anti-clockwise. The clockwise way will leave with a nice downhill section to finish the quads off.
It started out perfect this morning with very light rain and a bit of a breeze. It ended up being a bit too warm so I was cooking for the last 5 miles.
The route was pretty clear and looked after, not too bad to navigate but could do with some extra waymarkers. I’d advise grabbing a gpx from somewhere like LDWC as the current one takes you over the rail tracks where I’m assuming there used to be a crossing, you have to carry on a bit further before heading left out the field. I think this was around the 19mile point.
I’m keen to hit this again when it’s colder!
