The four of us completed the Alpine Lakes Crest Traverse in about 18.5 hrs. It was my second time on the route, as Logan and I previously did the route over two days two summers ago. This time around, we started in the dark and tried to keep a solid pace all day. Although it was a month later than last time, we found snow coverage to be adequate to enable nice shoe skiing on many of the descents, although it was a bit firm in places. We struggled during the heat of the day, climbing up to the Chain Lakes, but recovered and finished pretty strong. A special day!
