On 10/26 I attempted the FKT on on the Woodstock to Fort Valley FKT route. I found this route while browsing the FKT map and figured i'd go give it a shot since it was 30 minutes from home. This was my first attempt at a official FKT route and it was an awesome one to break the ice with. I believe I did a bit of extra distance by starting at the Sheetz at the intersection of E Reservoir Rd. and S Main St. (Which was just to the south of the start point on the actual FKT route, but was the most convenient place to park) However, I ran the exact route outlined in the FKT page outside of that extra 1/4 mile. This was a very fun and scenic route and the leaves were in peak foliage which definitely added to the experience. The tower road was very dusty and had pretty steady traffic kicking up the dust throughout which definitely contributed to the challenge. I'm hoping that if this FKT is accepted someone will come after me and break it because I definitely think a sub-3hr or even sub-2:45 is very doable on this route. Looking forward to attempting more FKTs in the future!
