I (Laszlo Piringer/"LazRuns") completed a total of 33 complete laps in 24 hours beginning on April 1st, 2022 at 8:00am and ending on April 2nd, 2022 at 8:00am on the Margaret Island "Futopalya" running loop on Margaret Island in Hungary, Budapest in the middle of the Danube River. One loop is 5.3km/3.2mi long. I started my run at 8 am under the clock next to the MAC (Margaret Island Athletic Center) and finished at the same location. The run was supported by my fiancé for the full 24hours with drinks, food, nutrition etc. at a single table located along the track. I had people come to join me throughout the day to run with me one, a few, or many laps in support of my challenge. In doing this run my goal was also to raise awareness and funds for a Hungarian Childrens Charity Gyermekétkeztetési Alapítvány. We were able to raise over 600,000 Hungarian Forints for the charity to help feed children in need in Hungary. It was a challenging run mostly because of unusually cold weather conditions for that day and time of year in April, we encountered rain throughout along with freezing temperatures in the late night and early morning.
