Ran the DT from east to west. started in Lester with heavy rain which stuck for the first 40% of the run, which created muddy trails. Accumulation of mud and water made for heavy legs and slower turnover. Carried all fuel & water. Steve accompanied me for first 20 miles. 5 miles coming out of Spirit was a reprieve after to so many tights turns and rollers. Saw 3 deer, 1 bear track and 4 pretty awesome kids and husband at the finish. Awesome day. Love Duluth!!
