I'm half Jamaican and wanted to take endurance running to an island most known for short distance running, The Plan to run the entire length of the Island over 4 days.  Assisting me was 2 crew, 1 videographer & 1 photographer & in one vehicle.

DAY 1: Morant Point to Kingston 83.6KM (https://www.strava.com/activities/14606102468 / https://www.instagram.com/p/DKLAnS-o4eb/?igsh=bm8xaDMyY2oyZTVo)-  Got off to a strong start but this was when I had the realisation that the heat and humidity was going to make this challenge a lot hard than originally anticipated and the pacing and fuelling needed improvement. // DAY 2: Kingston to Ocho Rios 85.7KM (https://www.strava.com/activities/14619162676 / https://www.instagram.com/p/DKM5CCgASUs/?igsh=MWU3dWJqcWFldXpsZw== ) - Delayed my start to make sure pre run fuelling was correct and also paced myself a lot better, this day had the worst stretch of continuous elevation for the whole challenge. // DAY 3: Ocho Rios to Montego Bay (https://www.strava.com/activities/14630107880 / https://www.instagram.com/p/DKQNaA5IGVe/?igsh=bmFqN21nZmlvZ3dr) 85KM -  Started the day strong but later on in the day had major issues with blistering on my feet and due to this finished the run much later than anticipated // DAY 4: Montego Bay to Negril 99KM (https://www.strava.com/activities/14639594399 / https://www.instagram.com/p/DKSgVcSIS_X/?igsh=ejZlMmtycWR1ajNt) -  Only got 1hr sleep as needed to start early to complete the run within my 4 day target and major issues with my feet in the last 30km and it took everything I had to complete the run.

 

This by far was the hardest challenge I’ve ever taken on, I was well and truly humbled by the heat and humidity. Upon reflection there are many things I could have done to make the run smoother but I wouldn’t change anything. I learned a lot not only about multiple day ultra running but also about myself.
