I needed this whole range for my Grid Two so figured I'd take a bat at the picnic FKT. I had a goal of sub-7 but then when I got to Hight & realized I was moving way better than anticipated just a month after JJ100, I pushed the pace more to try to go under the men's FKT as well. Cold, windy day, was in a jacket & gloves most of the time, but humid so I was still sweating quite a bit and there was nowhere to filter water, places I had filtered just a couple months ago were dried up, so while I fueled well but I didn't drink much. Such a beautiful day, hard to not take pictures. The most fun I've had running solo in a long time. Paced it well, felt almost effortless until the Wildcats. Joked with hikers, listened to thirst trap queen music and danced my way to the parking lot where thankfully my bike was still hidden behind a rock. The bike ride was BRUTAL. Headwind the entire time. I was gripping to the handlebars as cars whizzed by me. I've never worked so hard for such a short ride but thankfully I didn't get blown off. 5:30:42 for the run. 34:08 for the bike. Quick turnover between as I swapped my pedals for flats the day before so I didn't have to change shoes. Really stoked for how today went!
