An early start on Friday morning, very dry conditions if a bit windy (always seemed to be a headwind!). Good resupply in Skipton and Settle (chips!) and managed to catch the pub on the far side of Ingleborough before it closed. It only opens Friday evenings and Saturdays now so be careful if relying on it for supplies.
Stunning clear night until reaching the Calf when clag hit and visibility dropped to a couple of metres. Spent a lot of time here losing and trying to relocate the path on the descent until finally dropping out of the mist.
No resupply until the honesty box/fridge on the coast to coast path, but had refilled water from a stream just north of Sedbergh on the first part of the climb using my water filter so managed that section ok. The final part was hard and slow work due to a combination of frisky cows blocking fields, and some of the route being almost impassable due to being overgrown, and some fences laid across the path without any obvious stiles or gates (or maybe I was too tired to see!). Finished Saturday morning around 9:30am.
Overall a stunning route (save for maybe the last 5-10 miles) and I had a great day/night out.
