Had one piece of unfinished business to attend to before resting up. Miles knob loop FKT. Hamstrings were sore from xc and it was really wet out so I figured I’d have to run the climb around 40 minutes to have a shot since the descent would be slower. Ran the climb 2.5 minutes faster than in July and then just kept putting on time over the ridge. It’s starting to get really grown up and feels like bushwhacking in places. Hit great brook and somehow ran the steep first mile of descent even faster than last time. Hit the fire road and thought under 1:50 might be a possibility, but didn’t have enough left in my legs to hold 6:15 pace through those grassy rolling hills. Came in just under 1:52. Gps shows the track ending a little before the trailhead, but I started and stopped the watch while touching the sign so the elapsed time is accurate. I wanted to make sure I beat it by a lot because it wouldn’t feel right if I only got it because Xander lost some time because of the confusing trail. Not sure how fast Xander Keiter could have gone without the navigation time lost, but I think it’s at least close. Honestly wouldn’t be surprised if someone fast could run this under 1:45 or even close to 1:40
