Rainy day called for staying below treeline (for the mort part). I've had my eye on this FKT for a few months and wanted to scout it at a decent effort level today. Felt good climbing past Lonesome Lake and up Fishin' Jimmy, so I decided to just go for it on the remainder of the route. The cooler temps (40s/low 50s) and being completely soaked helped things, and I honestly don't think the wet trails slowed me down too much. Somehow I only slipped once and it was in the mud going down Hi-Cannon, so the Prodigio/wet rock traction was sufficient.

I started and finished at the tunnel under 93 with a total time of 2:37:45, so I'd estimate it was 2:36 from the trailhead. Since I didn't plan for this to be "race effort", I didn't know the right place to start or the direction of the loop. Hopefully going in the opposite direction is valid since it is a loop and there is no net elevation difference.

All in all, I'm very happy with this effort. It was one of those runs where things just clicked, never felt too hard, and flowed super well. I do think it could go under 2:30 for someone more confident on the technical descents.

Editor: The shortcut around the lake is matched by the longer start and end at the parking.
