This round can be started anywhere near the lake. I did start on the bridge over the river at the side of walenstadt.
I did run counterclockwise, so taking the hilly part first. Most of the elevation is made on this part of the lake on nice tracks and single trails.
From the waterfall of Betlis onwards, the route is on road. Only a part along the campsite is unpaved again, further the run follows the cycling path along the lake, which is still scenic and can be run much faster. I was having a great day, could climb fast and after the last downhill on the northside could keep a fast pace on road.
