This trail is awesome, and this run was enjoyable. I came in a bit longer than the 15.82 miles (16.20 miles) because I started at the intersection of Excelsior Blvd and 8th Ave South in Hopkins, which is about a quarter mile south from the giant raspberry and the technical (?) start of the Lake Minnetonka Regional Trail, and I ended at the official end of the Lake Minnetonka Regional Trail in Kirke-Lachen Park in Victoria. I ran alone the whole way, unsupported; I carried three GU gels and ate 2.5 of them: one at 5 miles, one at 10 miles, and half of the last one at 13.1 miles. I wore my Nathan hydration belt with two water bottles (9 oz each) and finished off my water at about the 15-mile mark (no refills). The leaves were gorgeous, and the temperature was perfect at about 65 degrees F. It was a bit windy with a 14ish mph wind out of the southwest (in my face pretty much the whole way, but I was largely protected by the trees along the trail). The trail was busy with bikers, walkers, dogs, and a few fellow runners. I saw (and heard) an owl in a tree, so that was neat. I finished about 15 minutes before sunset. I love a late afternoon long run!
