FKT: Mandy Hansen - Lake Monona Loop (WI) - 2024-05-25

What a great night to establish a women's FKT on this beautiful lake loop! I started and ended at R. Richard Wagner Park (previously called Kerr-McGee Triangle Park), and I ran clockwise. The route was busy with cyclists, walkers (with plenty of good dogs), and a few fellow runners. I completed the route unsupported. I wrote out the turn-by-turn instructions ahead of time and carried them with me just in case, but the route is well marked on the pavement and street signs. I carried two gels with me and ate one in mile 6, and I had water and gatorade waiting for me in my car when I got done. I enjoyed the lake views and friendly neighborhoods along the way. I hope others attempt and record their times on this scenic route.
