I hiked from boundary bay (the beginning point of the GDT in Waterton) to kakwa lake in a self supported manner. I sent a total of 4 ressuply boxes that I picked up in Coleman, elk pass, Saskatchewan resort crossing and Jasper. For water, I was filtering it from natural sources (springs, rivers, lake) along the way. I was alone the whole way (apart from when I was crossing path with other hikers of course). I took 2 zero days on the way (but they are obviously counted in the total amount of days I’m submitting).
and so for how it went… it was the most challenging yet rewarding adventure of my life! The landscapes were breathtaking, the track itself was challenging and it felt so lonely sometimes. I just completed the trail so my feelings are kinda all over the place at the moment: I’m exhausted, injured, relieved, grateful, happy, sad and I sort of miss the mountains already!
I haven’t finished posting everyday of my adventure but I made one video per day of this journey on my instagram account where you could read a better detailed report :)
