My original plan was to set off from Fox House, I set off at roughly 7pm on 5th May, I was relying on my watch but when I got to Burbage North car park area id realised that I hadnt zoomed in enough on the screen so I got my GPS handheld out and realised Id took the wrong route through the valley.. Wasnt a great start as didnt know if to go back to the start again or not. I decided to carry on and if i did make it round to then do again the correct route through burbage at the end.

In hindsight, setting off late evening wasnt a great idea either but im not too fussed about night time runs and figured it would be cooler. I wanted to get as much done in the fading light as possible and carried on through to about 3am before biving down just past kinder reservoir for 3 hours of little sleep as it got quite cold. I had issues before then from snake pass where my watch and hand held were giving conflicting accuracy on where I was, i decided to stick with the watch as i knew i wasnt on the other side of the river ashop.

Hayfield to breakfast in edale was great, noticed a new ice cream vending machine in upper booth id not seen before and had to make use of. After that it was just an all day slog with great views and good weather. I had tea in a pub in Litton and had to restock batteries in the coop in Tideswell as my handheld got through all of my AA spares.

It started getting dark just before sheldon, the climb up from the main road was really steep to get there, unfortunately the pub was shut when I arrived, I was looking forward to a drink that wasnt water by that point.

Started getting tired again through Lathkill Dale, ended up bivying again for 3 ish hours at the side of the path Alport end.

The final day was great weather too, enjoyed going through Stanton Moor, seeing the nine ladies, was hoping for breakfast at the Mill in Rowsley but it looked like it was closed, maybe pernamently. I had food to see me through but would have been nice to have a good meal as my mouth was getting dry and cut up with all the biscuity snacks I had.

I really wish I hadnt made the error at the start, when I returned to fox house i just wanted to sit down, have a drink and meal but had to press on.

Finished at burbage north car park, turns out there is very little data signal and couldnt load any of my taxi apps. Started walking back to Fox House where I knew there was signal but a couple of guys offered to drive me back to civilisation in Sheffield.
