Another night loop made more difficult by the muddy winter conditions. Prior to us starting the rain was coming down heavy however it cleared moments before we set off to reveal a beautiful clear sky.
This route circumnavigates the peninsular of Chidham with views over Chichester Harbour and on a clear day the scenery would be stunning however we had limited visibility at night.
The route also changes slightly due to the tidal calendar. We picked a slot to run at low tide which means you can also run on the beach as well as the path however the ground under foot conditions are slightly more unstable if you choose to do so as it’s quite rocky in sections.
The final third of trail before it reaches the 2km road finish is very muddy and slippery at the moment so ensure you wear shoes with an agressive lug.
Will definitely be re-attempting this good clear conditions (for the views alone)
