I started by myself with with about 100oz of water and 3500 calories. Started at about 6:10am in the dark at Deam Lake. I made it roughly 25 miles before I had to start filtering creek water. Water was flowing decent. I saw zero people first half but then saw 50+ people second half. From what I gathered a large group from South Carolina was out there. That made for a less boring but more painful second half. They all called me "sir" I got a kick out of that and was also a nice gesture. I ran this all using the food that I carried and using filtered water from the creeks. Be advised there are 30 blow downs and about 5 of them were difficult to get around. The last 5 miles were a complete mess and I got turn around twice because it was so hard to navigate around the trees. However....I beat my old record by 30 minutes! Should have been more but I guess that gives me another reason to go back out there.....as soon as I forget how painful it was.
