The FKT site doubles as a great road trip planner! I had two weeks off of work in Colorado Springs and wanted to hea roughly south and west. If it weren't for the site, I never would have stumbled on this amazing run.
I was hoping to get a chance to preview some of it at a slower pace the day prior, but a flat tire on the car that morning forced a detour to Kanab and I wasn't able to get to the trailhead until near sunset. As a result, this effort had to double as a taking-in-the-sights experience and stopping for a good number of photos while trying to move relatively quick. I think I managed to balance the two fairly well, though it would be great to come back and hike it a bit slower sometime.
Splits were 11:38 to the intersection with Buckskin Gulch, 1hr 41 mins from Buckskin Gulch to Paria River (1:52 elapsed), 1 hr 2.5 mins slogging up the Paria River to White House.
Carried about a liter of water with tailwind and drank less than half, then gorged on some snacks left with the bike at the finish before riding back to the car.
Was really helpful to have Sean's very trip report prior to setting out.
